Minor League Cricket
We had recently announced the launch of Minor League Cricket, a nation-wide Twenty20 domestic tournament across 22 cities in the United States. The first season of Minor League Cricket was expected to commence from July 11, 2020, and run for 8 weeks and culminating in a one-week playoff.
Considering the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic situation, like other cricket tournaments across the world, we need to change our plans for Minor League Cricket. However, as the tournament was scheduled in the second half of the year, we do have some flexibility and are considering various options including delaying the start of the season to mid to late August and/or changing the format to reduce the tournament duration.
MLC will keep the USA cricket community updated about the inaugural Minor League Cricket season by making an announcement at an appropriate time.
Academies
MLC’s academies (doing business as Willow Cricket Academies) as per the government guidelines had to suspend their operations from mid-March onwards. To keep the students engaged and involved with the game, our academies have started online coaching and training sessions. We are seeing substantial interest and attendance from students at these online sessions.
We will keep the student community updated regarding the resumption of the academy operations once we have clarity on the same.
